Spring Starts with the Estonian Boat Show!

Writer: Liina KurvitsLiina Kurvits

This weekend marks an exciting event for all maritime enthusiasts – the Estonian Boat Show! Running from today until Sunday, this annual gathering is considered the first true sign of spring and a reminder that the sailing season is just around the corner.

Interest in the sea and boating has been on the rise in Estonia for some time now. The number of recreational boats is growing, more people are enrolling in small craft skipper courses, and new sailing schools and marinas are opening. It’s no surprise, then, that this year’s Boat Show is bigger than ever, with participants from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and even as far as Italy.

Beyond boats and equipment, the event offers much more for maritime lovers. Visitors can explore stands featuring marine apparel, accessories, and services. Representatives from the Transport Administration and maritime rescue organizations are also present, along with sailing schools and small harbors. The Boat Show provides a comprehensive snapshot of the Estonian recreational boating and small craft industry in one place.

One of the highlights of the event is the opportunity to hear captivating stories from adventurers who have taken on the sea. Mart Kuusk, who recently rowed across the Atlantic alongside Captain Hannes Hanso, will share his experiences. At Nord Sail, we are proud to support our wonderwoman Anna-Liisa Talts, who is preparing to become the first Estonian to compete in the Mini Transat race this fall. Over the past year, she has put in an incredible amount of effort, sailed many nautical miles, and successfully qualified for this prestigious event.Follow Anna-Liisa: Nolita / est654 / solo ocean racing https://www.instagram.com/al.sailing/
